IAPMO gains Standards Council accreditation for NSCs

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) will develop and publish National Standards of Canada (NSC).

The association received accreditation from the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) as a standards developing organization (SDO). IAPMO received accreditation to certify plumbing products 20 years ago.

“IAPMO supports the harmonization of standards with the United States, Canada and Mexico as a mechanism to reduce non-tariff trade barriers,” CEO Russ Chaney said. “We are looking forward to furthering that goal.”

IAPMO Codes and Standards develop industry standards for plumbing, mechanical, solar, and recreational vehicle/manufactured housing products, as well as personnel qualifications standards. www.iapmo.org
